Latest version stalls

Bill
1.0.4.8 always stalls Thunderbird whenever any action is performed.
For example;
If I paste something, even a single word, into notes TBird hangs for 5 seconds.
( Using my right hand to cut/copy/paste  )
I have a lightening fast killer machine, so this hanging up is indeed abnormal.
If I enter a notes field to update or change something it stalls.
Actually, any action whatsoever causes it to stall.
Something has changed in this new version.
Thanks for listening.

Hi Bill,

I think you are the third: http://mnpforum.alehro00.com/slow-editing-td4638986.html
It's time to make something. Unfortunately I cannot reproduce this bug, neither I know exactly how to fix it. But I believe you can do it
You should delete the code causing the troubles and test it. Most probable it is the code located in jquery.textareaexpander.js file.
This file is located in <TB profile folder>\extensions\messagenotesplus@mozilla.org\chrome\messagenotesplus.jar
messagenotesplus.jar is simply zip archive. Unpack it. There is content\jquery.textareaexpander.js file. Find and remove the line:
CheckContent(this);
Save it. Pack messagenotesplus.jar again and replace the old one.
Restart TB.

If you will help me with this I promise to add context menu items you wanted in a week.
Waiting for any news from you.

Blackmail, huh?

OK, I commented out offending line and it seems to have fixed the issue.
No more stalling.

regarding the notes writing area:
It's so small (two lines), and resizing is kind of weird as you have to first expand the vertical area, then resize with the corner grab.
Something to think about.

Also, when moving to another email message, the previous note stays visible.
Also something to think about.

Bill

Good job! Although to be perfect you could debug the CheckContent function and determine what's going wrong there. Anyway additional context menu items are on the way.

What do you want?! You just removed half of cool stuff from the addon. I mean auto-sizing. I don't really have any alternative ideas (Unless you will debug the function and provide the patch).

Here you are the first. You definitely should rent your machine to me for testing.

Stalling: happy to help

Area Resize:
Hey, I'm just making observations, man.

Anyway, I program Pascal & SQLite, not JS; so no debugging.

What I mean is: If I expand the message area to, for example 10 lines, then perhaps it could remain persistent until manually changed again by operator.

Here is what is happening:

step 1: To expand the notes area, first the vertical area must be enlarged.
step 2: Then, corner must be grabbed to adjust to new vertical area.

These two actions are not synched.
step 2 cannot be performed without step 1.
step 1 alone does not resize notes area, only the notes area container.

It's not a major deal, I thought you would welcome observations :-P

As for notes remaining visible after leaving message, it is not 100% reproducible, so I will observe and report if I can provide steps to recreate.

Sure I welcome any help and observations. If you have found something offensive in my messages it's my bad English as second language. It goes worse when I'm kidding.
Thanks again for the help.
Actually I'm not kidding about renting of your machine. How do you estimate an hour of your time? All you will need it is to watch that I do not break/hack anything while debugging your TB.
